The Whitespotted Pygmy Filefish has pouty lips and a paddle-like tail.  This fish can change color depending on its mood and surroundings.  Whitespotted Pygmy Filefish can look distinctly spotted at times and solid shades of green another time.

The Whitespotted Pygmy Filefish can reach a maximum of only 3 inches, and will readily feed on frozen offerings and pellets.  Despite their size, the Whitespotted Pygmy Filefish has proven to be hardy and fast growing.  ORA has kept a group of the Whitespotted Pygmy Filefish in a tank with hard and soft corals, and has yet to observe the filefish nipping at the corals which suggests that they may be reef safe.
