The Sea Hare coloration is a mix of dark to light brown speckles and patterns. When startled it may release a purple ink to startle fish. It is important to have a good chemical filter in the home aquarium if this occurs. For the home aquarium it is recommended to provide large areas open sandy and live rock to graze for algae. It is also recommended to provide shady areas as the Sea hare can be sensitive to long exposure to aquarium lights.
