The Duncan coral is pure Classic! An easy bet to be in every reef tank with their ease of growth, massive polyps bright color and tons of waving tentacles to dance in your flow itās easy to see why. Duncan corals are also known to be an indicator coral for your reef as they seem to react to change in a visual manner thatās easy to pick out and can be a great line of defense to notice and get to testing before things get out of hand. These corals love a good feeding as well and can be readily spot fed off meaty foods such as frozen mysis and brine or even coral foods such as reef chili or coral delight.
The branching Duncan has, as you might figure, a more tree branching style of growth like branching hammers and trumpet corals. While growing out as frags youāll notice nice branches form and as they grow to be larger specimens, they will take on a spherical look. Because of the distance between each branch being larger in general than their tabling variety, they will also tend to have slightly larger polyps to fill in that space.
