Apocylops panamensis. This copepod is a Cyclopoid, different from Calanoids and Harpacticoids. It behaves similar to a harpacticoid and somewhat like a calanoid copepod in that there is activity on the substrate and movement throughout the water column.

This copepod comes from a shallow reef system in Panama. It lives slightly higher up in the water column than does Tisbe and, as such, will feed those organisms feeding in that level of the water column, including corals.

Fish, coral, and invertebrates, need live foods to maintain a long healthy life. Copepods are beneficial as they are generally high in protein and offer minerals and nutrients that flake foods or pellet foods do not have. Marine animals prefer a varied diet, so it is best to offer a selection of live foods such as Copepods.

Please note this arrives in “green water” which is phytoplankton to feed the pods and it is stable and tank ready.  Pour directly into the tank, sump, or filter system.  Do not store them in the refrigerator.
