Cyphastrea had been relatively unkept in the hobby a decade ago, now we see many color morphs of all colors in the rainbow. These corals can be truly stunning pieces each having their own personality and their polyps can be remarkable when viewed up close. Their polyp extension is quite good as well and some species can even be branching while most are encrusting corals. Coming in every color imaginable and growing at a fast pace it’s no shocker Cyphastrea have been flooding the hobby. These corals prefer low light and take a long time to get used to high lighting conditions so keep them in shaded areas close to the rock. However, consider other corals placed in its vicinity as this coral can impede on their space quickly when in the right conditions. Make sure there’s moderate waterflow at all times and if you decide to feed this coral I recommend things such as seachem fuel and polyp labs powdered supplements broadcast to the tank or diluted and spread evenly over this corals open polyps.
