Zoanthids have quickly become the widest range of colors and individual phenotype names in the hobby as their wide color patterns and polyp size have something to fit everyone’s fancy. These quick growing corals are great for lower and shaded areas of your tank however with enough acclimation time can also withstand very intense lighting right at the top of your reef. careful of your placement though as even just one or two polyps can overtime take and sue any bit of open space on your rock work. Recently hobbyists have taken to creating a small island structure to place their Zoa gardens on. Also let’s not forget that Zoa’s can live peacefully with each other so mixing and matching in one area is very doable, pay attention to polyp size and extension when grouping your gardens as smaller polyps can be shaded out with enough time if proper consideration isn’t taken when firs making your placement.
