This bright blueish purple soft coral resembles both pipeorgans and xenia however they have smaller hands then xenia and much shorter stalks than pipe organs. These corals grow quite rapidly once acclimated to their new environment and can quickly take over surfaces. It’s best not to add these corals too early to a major rock scape as they can become a problem over time. If on the other hand your tank is well grown in with corals and youāre looking to fill in the gaps then this is the coral for you. Even just trying to cover the back wall of your tank or have an out cropping of rock covered in this polyp will be a wonderful display piece. For whatever reason these do get out of control donāt fret as the tuxedo urchin has been known to munch on this coral quite well and can help control the population from overstepping its bounds. Don’t let its fast growth rate deter you from this rewarding coral simply take the time to think ahead on its placement.
