The Blue Ridge coral is an oddity in the hobby in that it is named for the striking blue color that the coral gives off when broken or fragged. Its skeleton is what actually turns blue! When this happens it’s not the polyp of the coral changing. The coral is a type of SPS and has polyps that can extend out decently far similar to a stylocenia coral. This coral is a pinkish red when kept under normal lighting and a deep maroon or purple when under intense actinic light.
