The OGA Yellow Polyp Coral has a yellow stalk and mouth with long stringy tentacles. The OGA Yellow Polyp Coral is a rapidly growing coral that can survive just about any placememt position in your tank, however it is recomended you isolate these on a rock not connected to your main sturcture or one that can be easily moved should these polyps start growing too fast. they can be removed easily if they start growing where they shouldn’t, simply pinch them by the base between your index finger and thumb and pull away rapidly like plucking a hair and they will come right off. Always be careful when working with Palythoa or Zoanthids by wearing gloves and eye protection.
Palythoa are an order of cnidarians, and are commonly found in coral reefs as well as in the deep sea, and are often found all over the world. Palythoa can be found in a wide variety of beautiful colors and different colonizing formations made up of individual polyps, attached to an exterior spine, or attached to a mat or rock that has been created from smaller pieces of sediment. Palythoa can tolerate a wide array of water conditions, making them extremely hardy and very desirable. Palythoa feed using a process known as photosynthesis through the help of zooxanthellae they contain, as well as capturing plankton and particulate matter through the water column.
