Red Gracilaria Macroalgae is a reddish transparent algae that is a natural food source for herbivorous marine animals. Red Gracilaria Macroalgae is one of the most desirable foods for tangs and angelfish.
This Macroalgae is a hardy, sub-tidal red algae that attaches to limestone or occasionally to basalt substrates. If it is to be added in the tank frequently for feeding purposes, it is best to grow it in a refugium or in a separate tank. It can be placed anywhere in the aquarium, and it will easily take root and grow, if provided with proper lighting and water conditions.
To keep it healthy and growing, it requires a 12 hour lighting schedule with a high output lighting, and good filtration. It is very important to change the water often to replenish any elements that may have been absorbed by the macroalgae.
