The Royal Damsel, Neopomacentrus cyanomos, is a small, blackish grey damselfish with a bright yellow lyer tail.
This damsel is often found in the tank investigating branching corals and hiding among live rock crevices.
They are generally best kept singly in tanks of at least 20 gallons with plenty of live rock.
The Royal Damsel’s diet includes a mixture of live, frozen, and flake foods. It can be wise to add this damsel to a community tank last to avoid territorial behavior. The Royal Damsel is a great beginner fish as it is easy to care for and hardy.
