This unique hermit crab makes its home out of stag horned hydrocoral (Janaria mirabilis) a type of SPS coral. They act like other hermits other than carrying corals on their back instead of a shell. The nice part about these guys is their home grows with them unlike many other hermits who must change shells over time to find a bigger space. They are scavengers or detritovores and will eat any leftover food or waste on the sand and rock.
